I was wondering has this ever happened to anyone. you get the phone bill and its like 200 something dollars. you know for a fact you didn't use that many minutes. you can't tell exactly how many but you know it couldn't have been that many minutes. then no one believes you and you take the blame and consequences for what you couldn't have done.

hell if it did, i was blamed for a phone bill of like 600000 £. and i knew for sure it couldn't have been me, since i don't even like talking on the phone and if i call someone on the phone that's a rare event. then it came out my sister called those fuckin numbers to get ringtones and crap like that for her cell phone. lol.
i hate when people are so judgemental and give others the blame for something they didn't do without knowing nothing about it

You might try looking at the bill in detail. If you can find out the times and durations of the calls as well as the phone numbers, you can discuss with whoever pays the bill. In other words, if the numbers were to people you didn't know, or if the times of the calls were at times when you were doing other things, you hav a way of disputing the charges. I've also seen the phone companies get numbers mixed up, too.

Definitely check this out. Recently, I had a charge of $109 made to my credit card and I knew as a fact that I didn't buy anything for that high a price. When we investigated, it turned out that someone had used my card claiming to be me. I don't know how they got my info, as I never give it out and didn't lose my card, but they took the money off the bill and caught the person.

When I was 16 years old there was a phone bill for £600. I know it was my fault because I phoned up chat lines at a premin rate.

When I got my first contract mobile, I had bills of $200 (£400) three months in a row. Mum bloody k i l l e d me lmfao, so I went back to pay as you go for a couple of years after that first disasterous attempt at a contract phone, but I got another one last year as this deal was £35 a month (around $16 a month, plus just as much again give or take a few pounds for some of my calls plus all downloads. This is cdue to terminate any day now as I'm forever trying to get in to mum's head, so she'll fix Sky Broadband before we lose Orange and therefore, have no internet, so I reckon, I'm staying with Orange, but I'll look in to cheaper line rental plans or quit contract yet again and switch back to pay as you go.

My roomate from the blind school gave me a $700 phone bill because sometimes she used it without me noticing. This didn't make sence because the minutes are supposed to be free after 9.

One one of my phone bills, it said outgoing data transfer, about 35 data transfers. I don't know why that is, but I had to pay 5 dollars for these transfers. I only sent one text message, and one email! I never download ringtones or anything like that! I don't know why that showed up on my bill!

I do not think that that has ever happened to me.

f you know you didn't do it, disputing the charges and getting your money back shouldn't be an issue. As for the roomate, did you make her pay the money, assuming that she really did make the calls? I don't even know what I'd do to someone if I found out they were using my things without my permission, but I can assure you, it wouldn't be pretty.

Of course she didn't pay it even though she was supposed to. I also had to get a box to lock things like my phone and money.

I don't think this has ever happened to me at all. My parents pay the bill because i still live with them.

Oh definately I've had that happen to me with my old phone provider. I called the phone company and asked them why my bill is way higher than what it's supose to be and they would say oh we'll lower it in 4 hours and it wouldn't get done. Or they would tell me that it's because my service was inturrupted once. So my advice is that if you want good phone service do your research and ask questions before signing that invisible contract that they bind you on.

I had some bill issues with my old cell phone company. Not long after my sister got her phone on my plan, our phones were cut off. We went to the store, since they were having problems with their computers, so they couldn't look up my account, and we found out we had gone over our spending limit for what turned out to be Internet charges my sister had, plus a few text messages that were over her limit. However, the Internet was supposed to be unlimited for that first month, but we found out it wasn't written in the contract, so we finally got that all straightened out.
Then, another month, we went way, way, over our minutes. I only used 200 something, and she supposedly used over 700 or something. When AI discovered this, we had two weeks of our bill left, so I was really careful that month. Since my company did not list the calls on the bill, I went to see them to figure out who she had called, since she was in school during the day, our free nights and weekends started at six, and we did not get good service in our house, but they said they couldn't tell me. However, I requested, and got, them automized, meaning listed, and they showed up on my online account. Thank God I switched companies and have my own plan now. I haven't had any billing problems with this current company, and I hope it stays that way.

Just out of curiosity, what company are you with now?
